DELORD ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1983

  • Ageing eau-de-vie from the 1983 harvest, bottled after several decades of ageing in the cellars
  • Cask aged in Gascon oak casks in the cellars of Armagnac Delord at Lannepax

The 1983 vintage from Armagnac Delord is a single-harvest eau-de-vie, distilled and then aged for many years in Gascon oak casks in the family cellars at Lannepax, in the Gers. On the nose, it shows an elegant character with pronounced notes of dried flowers, tobacco and nutmeg. The palate is rich, offering notes of spice and verbena, finishing on a very fine note of tobacco and rancio. Bottled at 40% vol., this vintage Armagnac is presented here in a 70 cl bottle, equally suited to unhurried sipping or as an exceptional gift.

How it is made

Traditional vinification to produce an aromatic wine, lightly acidic and low in alcohol. Continuous distillation in the Armagnac style, using column stills fitted with "spider-leg" plates, ideally suited to the production of aged Armagnacs. Matured in new French oak casks (heavy toast), then finished in "semi-exhausted" or "exhausted" barrels.
