Plaisirs de Gascogne takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This page explains what information we collect on this website, why, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights.

What data do we collect, and why?

Your customer account: title, last name, first name, email address, password (stored in encrypted form), and date of birth if you choose to provide it. Legal basis: performance of the contract (managing your account).
Your orders and their delivery: delivery and billing addresses, phone number if you provide it, content and amount of your orders, order history. Legal basis: performance of the contract, and our accounting and tax obligations.
Payment: we never see or store your card details. Card and PayPal payments are processed directly by PayPal; for bank transfers, we only keep the information needed to match your payment.
Age verification: the sale of alcohol to minors is prohibited. At checkout, we ask you to confirm that you are 18 or older. This statement is used solely to comply with this legal obligation.
Your messages: when you write to us through the contact form, we keep your name, email address and the content of the exchange in order to reply and follow up.
Newsletter: if you subscribe, we use your email address to send you our news. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email.
Website security: to protect account login and the contact form against bots, we use the Google reCAPTCHA service. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in securing the website.

Who receives your data?

Your data is intended for our team and is never sold. We only share it with the service providers who help us fulfil your order, and only for that purpose:

the carrier UPS and our shipping label tool (Sendcloud), to deliver your parcel;
PayPal, for online payment;
Brevo, our email service provider (order confirmations, tracking, newsletter);
OVH, which hosts the website and its data in France;
Google, for the reCAPTCHA service and the display of the website's fonts.

Some of these services, in particular Google and PayPal, may involve a transfer of data outside the European Union. Such transfers are governed by standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.

How long do we keep your data?

Customer account: for as long as your account is open, until it is deleted.
Marketing (offers, newsletter): 3 years after your last contact with us (last order or last enquiry).
Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as required by law.
Messages sent through the contact form: for the time needed to handle your request, then 3 years at most.
Cookies: 13 months at most.

Cookies

The website only uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, which do not require your consent:

the shop session cookie, which remembers your basket, your language and your login (lifetime: 20 days);
the cookies of the Google reCAPTCHA service, which protects forms against bots.

We currently use no advertising cookies and no audience measurement tools. Should we add any, this page will be updated and your consent will be requested beforehand.

You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie, however, prevents the basket from working.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. You may also withdraw your consent at any time and give instructions on what should happen to your data after your death.

To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@plaisirsdegascogne.com or by post at the address above. We will reply within one month. You can also update your information directly in your customer account.

If, after contacting us, you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).

Security

The website is only accessible over a secure connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored in encrypted form and access to data is restricted to the people who need it to process your orders.
