  • Awards Gilbert & Gaillard 94/100

This vintage 1979 Bas-Armagnac from Château de Millet, presented in a 250 cl pot gascon, is an eau-de-vie from a single harvest year, vinified and distilled on the estate by the Dèche family, who have been grower-producers in Eauze for five generations. The house's 2026 catalogue describes it as follows: an open, expressive nose dominated by spice and exotic wood; an attack of exceptional softness on the palate, with aromatic intensity that builds; an explosive finish. A vintage of genuine fullness, in the house's own words. The vineyard is managed according to sustainable farming principles and holds Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3 certification. Each vintage is available in 20 cl, 50 cl, 70 cl, magnum and 2.5 l pot gascon, with a wooden gift box as an option.

In Gascony, the vines yielded an elegant and well-balanced vintage. After nearly half a century of ageing in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie have developed a fine harmony of vanilla, dried fruits and gentle spices.

How it is made

For five generations, the Dèche family, owner-growers, have been distilling Armagnac from their own vines, earning regular recognition from the specialist press both in France and abroad.

The vineyard is planted on the rolling green hills to the north-west of Eauze, the capital of Armagnac, where sandy-clay and sandy soils known as "sables fauves" alternate.
