Harvest 1934, in Bas-Armagnac. The Guasch family distils using a short-column copper Armagnac still, almost a century old, then ages each vintage separately in oak casks at Château de Bordeneuve, in Castelnau d'Auzan. The estate holds vintages stretching back to 1893.

The year 1934

1934 was a year of contrasts, marked in cinema by Jean Vigo's L'Atalante, a masterpiece of French poetic realism, and on the pitch by the Italian World Cup. In Gascony, the vines of that year yielded a harvest that has since become rare, aged for over nine decades in oak casks and now approaching its centenary.
