DELORD ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1976

  • Ageing eau-de-vie from the 1976 harvest, bottled after several decades of ageing in the cellar
  • Cask aged in Gascon oak casks at the Armagnac Delord cellars in Lannepax

The 1976 vintage from Armagnac Delord is a single-harvest eau-de-vie, distilled and then aged for many years in Gascon oak casks within the family cellars at Lannepax, in the Gers. The nose is delicate and complex, with aromas of spice (vanilla and cocoa) and a light rancio character. The palate opens with a frank, rounded attack, followed by notes of tannin, fresh fruit, liquorice and linden blossom. Bottled at 40% vol. in a 70 cl bottle, this vintage Armagnac is equally suited to leisurely tasting or to giving as an exceptional gift.

A summer of such intensity concentrates the sugars and brings an early harvest; in Gascony as elsewhere, this year remains a strong climatic reference point, even though its precise character for Armagnac has not been the subject of any specific documentation found to date.
