DELORD ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1976
- Ageing Eau-de-vie from the 1976 harvest alone, aged in oak casks
- Cask Oak casks, in the house cellars at Lannepax (Gers)
Half a century: that is the age of this 1976 harvest, distilled at Lannepax when Jacques and Pierre Delord ran the house together. For a fiftieth birthday or a golden wedding anniversary, it is a gift that carries exactly the right date. The house tasting notes describe a topaz robe with a slight copper hue, a delicate and complex nose (vanilla, cocoa, a hint of rancio) and a frank, rounded palate where tannins, fresh fruit, liquorice and lime blossom all come through. Bottled at 40% vol., it is presented in a basquaise bottle of 70 cl with a wooden gift box.
Serve with Neat, or alongside a cigar, a chocolate dessert or an arabica coffee, as the house suggests
