This Bas-Armagnac vintage 1989 from the family house Dartigalongue, bottled at 42% vol. in a 70 cl decanter, opens on a nose of woody and spiced aromas, with candied orange. On the palate, pastry notes (caramel, vanilla, cream) give way to rancio and dry walnut. This vintage has also been recognised with awards: gold medal "Outstanding" at the International Wine and Spirit Competition (London) 2015, silver medal at the International Spirit Competition (London) 2015. Patiently aged in oak casks in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, this 1989 is best enjoyed as a digestif, slowly, to savour the full work of time.

1989 will be remembered as the year that changed the world, with the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November after twenty-eight years of division. In Gascony, the vines yielded a vintage of fine freshness. Aged for nearly four decades in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie retain a lovely vitality, with notes of candied fruit, vanilla and gentle spice.
