Sempé Armagnac Vintage 1955

The 1955 vintage joins the great Sempé collection, which has been growing since 1934 in Aignan, in the Gers. For each harvest, the cellar masters select the Armagnac casks that will respect the triptych dear to the founder: fragrance, roundness, length. This 1955 Bas-Armagnac is an obvious choice for someone born that year, or for a birthday or wedding anniversary whose date matters. It is bottled at 40% vol. in a 70 cl Milady bottle and comes in a case, ready to be given.

The year 1955

Vintage grand

1955 was a year of cultural ruptures, marked by the meteoric rise of James Dean and the first stirrings of rock'n'roll. In Gascony, the vines yielded a vintage of exceptional maturity, now aged for over seven decades in Gascon oak casks. These eaux-de-vie have developed a fine aromatic depth, weaving together prunes, vanilla and silky rancio.
