Sempé Armagnac Vintage 1968

The 1968 vintage is one to give to someone born that year, for a milestone birthday or a family reunion. It belongs to the great collection of the house of Sempé, based in Castelnau d'Auzan, in Bas-Armagnac, which has been adding new vintages since 1934. The cellar masters select the casks there according to the founder's triptych: fragrance, roundness, length. The 70 cl Milady bottle, at 40% vol., comes in its case, ready to be given with the year of birth clearly visible.

The year 1968

1968 was the year that changed everything, from the cobblestones of May in Paris to the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy in the United States. The Gascon harvest of that turbulent year yielded spirits of strong character, now aged for nearly six decades in oak casks, with intense spice and a well-present rancio.
