DELORD ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1974
- Ageing Eau-de-vie from the 1974 harvest alone, aged in oak casks
- Cask Oak casks, in the house cellars at Lannepax (Gers)
When the house composed Épopée to mark its 130th anniversary, it chose 1974 for the finesse of its woody aromas. The official tasting note, long displayed on the house website, points in the same direction: an amber robe with old-gold highlights, a very refined nose of old wood, walnut and tobacco, a complex palate of roasted notes and orange peel, then a finish of spices and blond tobacco. A single-harvest vintage, distilled at Lannepax in the time of Jacques and Pierre Delord, it is bottled at 40% vol. A 70 cl basquaise bottle in a wooden case, for a 52nd anniversary.
Serve with Neat, or with a cigar, a chocolate dessert or an arabica coffee, as the house suggests
