LAUBADE ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1974
- Cask Pedunculate oak from Gascony, 420-litre casks
1974 is a founding date for Laubade: Maurice Lesgourgues, originally from the Landes, took over the Sorbets estate and chose to focus on vintages at a time when other houses had largely abandoned them. That same year, the property's traditional Armagnac still was custom-built on site. This harvest therefore belongs to the very beginnings of the family adventure. The house describes a deep brown colour with apricot highlights, a gentle nose of violet and prune on a woody background, and a supple palate where the rancio comes through with real definition. The 50 cl bottle, at 40% vol., makes a fitting gift for a birth or wedding anniversary dated to 1974.
