The Sigognac vintages form an exceptional collection of rare eaux-de-vie, refined on the palate and intense in aroma. Every bottle is prepared to order only, allowing each vintage to continue developing right up to the last moment. The bottling date is indicated on the back label of each bottle.

Harvest 1945, in Bas-Armagnac. The Guasch family distils using a short-column copper alembic still, nearly a century old, then ages each vintage separately in oak casks at Château de Bordeneuve, in Castelnau d'Auzan. The estate holds vintages dating back to 1893.

1945 will be remembered as the year of Germany's surrender on 8 May and the founding of the United Nations from the ashes of the world conflict. In Gascony, the vineyards returned to their rhythm in a country rebuilding itself, and this Liberation harvest, aged for more than eight decades in Gascon oak casks, retains the memory of that pivotal year.
Baron de Sigognac is produced at Château de Bordeneuve, on the sandy-tawny soils around Eauze, the capital of Bas-Armagnac, by the Guasch family, who have been established in Gascony since the twelfth century.
