BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1945
- Cask Limousin oak
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
- Terroir tawny sands
- Distillation continuous Armagnac-type still
In spring 1945, the war came to an end in Europe; in the autumn, Gascony harvested a crop of renewed peace. Eighty-one years later, this eau-de-vie is among the vintages that Baron de Sigognac keeps at Château de Bordeneuve, whose reserves go back to 1893. It comes from Ugni Blanc or Baco grown on tawny sands, distilled in a continuous Armagnac-type still, then aged in Limousin oak casks. One naturally thinks of an 81st birthday, or of a family wishing to mark the memory of a return. The Armagnac is presented in a 70 cl bottle, delivered in a wooden box.
