Built in 1870 in the commune of Sorbets, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Château de Laubade has been run since 1974 by the Lesgourgues family, now in its third generation with Denis and Arnaud Lesgourgues. Across one hundred hectares of unbroken vineyard, six traditional grape varieties, Baco, Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard…
All Château de Laubade Armagnacs →The record
L'Enchanteur belongs to Les Curiosités de Laubade, a limited series of Bas-Armagnacs in which each blend spends time in an unexpected cask. After ageing in Gascon oak, this eau-de-vie was finished for 8 months in a Sauternes cask from Château Doisy Daëne, a Grand Cru Classé.
It celebrates the friendship between the Lesgourgues (Laubade) and Dubourdieu (Doisy Daëne) families. The Sauternes finish gives it a modern texture and a gentle sweetness that make it a lovely introduction to Armagnac, after dinner or alongside a citrus dessert.
