Dartigalongue Armagnac Vintage 1973

This vintage 1973 Bas-Armagnac from the family house Dartigalongue, bottled at 42% vol. in a 70 cl decanter, opens on a delicate nose with notes of vanilla, clove and red fruits. On the palate, very light and supple, with a complex finish of spice and rancio. Patiently aged in oak casks at the heart of Bas-Armagnac, this 1973 is best enjoyed as a digestif, slowly, to fully appreciate the work of time.

The Year 1973

Vintage good

1973 was marked by the first oil crisis and the signing of the Paris Peace Accords, which ended American involvement in Vietnam. Despite this turbulent global context, Gascony produced a robust and wide-ranging vintage. Aged for more than half a century in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie display intense aromas of prunes, liquorice and roasted coffee.
