CALVADOS GROULT 8 YEARS 70CL

  • Ageing Minimum 8 years in cask
  • Cask French oak casks
  • Grape varieties 100% cider apples from Pays d'Auge
  • Awards Gold Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition; IWSC Gold Medal 2025

Aged for 8 years, this Calvados Roger Groult develops a deep amber-gold colour and offers a nose of wood and spice, with notes of toasted hazelnuts and candied prune. The palate is round and generous, unfolding flavours of ripe apple supported by a hint of vanilla, before a long, warming finish. Twice distilled over a wood fire and then refined in oak casks using the house's perpetual method, it has earned several gold medals at international competitions. A Calvados of real character, best enjoyed as a digestif or over a few cubes of ice to bring out its full roundness.

How it is made

This 8-year-old Calvados captures all the fruitiness and freshness of a young eau-de-vie. Warm aromas of apple, cinnamon and vanilla unfold, shaped by years of patient ageing in oak casks.

Tradition runs deep here: today it is Jean-Roger, the fifth generation, who has preserved double distillation over a wood fire alongside other time-honoured methods, and who takes great pleasure in offering you these exceptional Calvados Pays d'Auge cuvées.
