1989 will be remembered as the year that changed the world, with the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November after twenty-eight years of division. In Gascony, the vines yielded a vintage of fine freshness. Aged for nearly four decades in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie retain a lovely vitality, with notes of candied fruit, vanilla and gentle spice.
