LAUBADE ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1989

  • Cask Gascony pedunculate oak, 420-litre casks

In 1989, France was celebrating the bicentennial of the Revolution. At Sorbets, the 1989 harvest produced this vintage, distilled on the estate and entrusted to Gascony pedunculate oak for a long ageing. The house describes it as delicately woody, vanilla-scented and toasted, with a round, full palate, silky tannins and notes of chocolate. It pairs beautifully at the end of a meal with a square of dark chocolate. Bottled at the château, in 70 cl at 40% vol., for those born in 1989.

The year 1989

Vintage bon

1989 will be remembered as the year that changed the world, with the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November after twenty-eight years of division. In Gascony, the vines yielded a vintage of fine freshness. Aged for nearly four decades in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie retain a lovely vitality, with notes of candied fruit, vanilla and gentle spice.
