Dartigalongue Armagnac Vintage 2003

  • Ageing 2003 vintage, a single harvest

The summer of 2003 is remembered for its exceptional heatwave. At Dartigalongue, that year's harvest produced a sun-drenched vintage with aromas of yellow fruits, peach and stewed plum, with orange zest and toasted oak. The palate is fruit-forward, quite round, with a fine length, and finishes on stewed plum and spices. The house also drew a Single Cask from that year; this bottle belongs to the vintage collection. Presented in a gift box, for a birth or an anniversary from 2003.

The 2003 vintage

Vintage exceptional

2003 will forever be remembered for the hottest summer France had seen in centuries, with a heatwave that pushed temperatures beyond 40°C across the South-West. These extreme conditions gave rise to grapes of a concentration and ripeness rarely achieved in Gascony. An exceptional vintage, whose spirits today display roundness and generosity, somewhere between candied fruit and honey.
