Harvest 1964, in Bas-Armagnac. The Guasch family distils using a nearly century-old copper column alembic still of the Armagnac type, then ages each vintage separately in oak casks at Château de Bordeneuve, in Castelnau d'Auzan. The estate holds vintages going back to 1893.

1964 will be remembered as the year the Beatles made their triumphant arrival in the United States and the Civil Rights Act was signed into law. In Gascony, the vines yielded a vintage of notable elegance and finesse. After more than six decades of ageing in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie offer a refined profile, rich in nuances of dried fruit and vanilla.
