Harvest 1988, in Bas-Armagnac. The Guasch family distils using a short copper column alembic still of almost a century old, then ages each vintage separately in oak casks at Château de Bordeneuve, in Castelnau d'Auzan. The estate holds vintages stretching back to 1893.

Baron de Sigognac is produced at Château de Bordeneuve, on the sandy-tawny soils around Eauze, the capital of Bas-Armagnac, by the Guasch family, who have been established in Gascony since the twelfth century.
