LAUBADE ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1981

  • Cask Gascony pedunculate oak, 420-litre casks
  • Awards Best Armagnac and Double Gold Medal, San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2011

The estate's Millésime Célébration sheet highlights a rare distinction for this 1981: Best Armagnac and Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2011. On the palate, the house describes it as balanced and rounded, highly vanilla-forward, with a delicate hint of rancio and a fine aromatic persistence. Like every Millésime Célébration, it comes from one hundred percent of a single harvest, and its bottling date appears on the label. The 70 cl bottle is bottled at 40% vol.: a beautiful gift for those born in 1981.

The year 1981

Vintage grand

1981 will be remembered as the year François Mitterrand was elected President of the Republic, while across the Atlantic the music channel MTV was born. In Gascony, the vines yielded grapes of fine ripeness. These eaux-de-vie, aged for nearly half a century in Gascon oak casks, have reached their full expression, with notes of candied prunes, dark chocolate and gentle spices.
