LAUBADE ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1990

  • Cask Gascon pedunculate oak, 420-litre casks

The Laubade vineyards stretch across gently sloping hillsides, with sandy soils and boulbènes typical of the great terroirs of Bas-Armagnac. The 1990 harvest yielded this single-vintage eau-de-vie, which the estate describes as fruity on the nose, wrapped in the vanilla of the wood, then balanced and round on the palate, full-bodied, with notes of plum and candied grape. A generous style, best shared after dinner. Bottled at the château in 70 cl, at 40% vol., it makes a fine gift for an anniversary or a wedding celebrated in 1990.

The year 1990

Vintage good

1990 was a year of liberation and reunification, marked by Nelson Mandela's release from prison after twenty-seven years and the reunification of Germany. In Gascony, that year's harvest yielded spirits with a fruity, well-balanced profile, now aged for more than three decades in Gascon oak casks, with notes of dried fruits and vanilla.
