  • Cask French oak casks, aged in the cellars of Château de Millet until bottling
  • Grape varieties Baco and Ugni Blanc
  • Awards Gilbert & Gaillard 92/100

This vintage 1996 Bas-Armagnac from Château de Millet, presented in a 250 cl pot gascon, is an eau-de-vie from a single harvest year, vinified and distilled at the estate by the Dèche family, who have been grower-producers in Eauze for five generations. The house's 2026 catalogue describes it as follows: a complex nose with smoky and spiced notes, and almost exotic nuances on swirling (curry); a palate of pleasant softness and fine balance; a finish of aromatic intensity that brings length and character. The vineyard is managed using sustainable practices and holds the Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3 certification. Each vintage is available in 20 cl, 50 cl, 70 cl, magnum and 2.5 l pot gascon, with a wooden gift box as an option.

The 1996 Vintage

Vintage grand

The year 1996 offered Gascony a fine balance between freshness and maturity. Spirits from this vintage stand out for their aromatic vivacity and elegance, with notes of fresh fruit, white flowers and hazelnut. After three decades of ageing in Gascon oak casks, they have developed hints of vanilla and gentle spice.

How it is made

Vinified and distilled on the estate using a traditional Armagnac-style still, then aged in oak casks. An artisanal production of genuine quality. For five generations, the Dèche family, as owner-growers, have distilled Armagnac from their own vineyards, earning regular praise from specialist press both in France and abroad.

The vineyard sits on the rolling green hills to the north-west of Eauze, the capital of Armagnac, where sandy-clay and sandy soils, known as "sables fauves", alternate across the landscape. This distinctive terroir within the Bas-Armagnac zone is renowned for producing delicate, fruit-forward eaux-de-vie.
