BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 2006

  • Cask oak from the Limousin forest
  • Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
  • Terroir tawny sands
  • Distillation Armagnac-type continuous still

The 2006 vintage from Baron de Sigognac turns twenty in 2026: a ready-made gift for a twentieth birthday, or to mark a birth or a wedding from that year. It comes from Castelnau d'Auzan, in Bas-Armagnac, and is made from Ugni Blanc or Baco distilled in a continuous Armagnac-type still, on a terroir of tawny sands. It then ages in Limousin oak casks. Its pale yellow colour signals a fresh, round style, with lemon and vanilla. The 70 cl bottle is presented in its wooden case.

Baron de Sigognac is produced at Château de Bordeneuve, on the sandy-tawny soils around Eauze, the capital of Bas-Armagnac, by the Guasch family, who have been established in Gascony since the twelfth century. Continuous distillation has been practised here since 1974, using a traditional armagnacais still nearly a century old,…
