This Single Cask 1981 comes from a single cask, no. 487, selected in the cellars of Dartigalongue for its qualities at a precise stage of its ageing. The cellar master bottled it at the strength that best reveals the vintage, 45% vol., in a limited series of 456 numbered bottles. On the nose, very intense aromas of ripe fruit, spices and orange blossom. On the palate, as intense as the nose, it offers the hallmark aromas of a fine rancio: dried fruit, walnut, all wrapped in generous, enveloping tannins. A very intense Armagnac, the quintessence of more than 40 years of ageing in Gascon oak casks.
