Monluc Armagnac VSOP 7 years
- Ageing VSOP, 7 years old
- Terroir Ténarèze
VSOP, for Very Superior Old Pale: at Monluc, the blend is seven years old. The house tasting notes describe a nose of candied citrus, mint, clove, vanilla sugar and sandalwood; on the palate, chocolate and Espelette pepper make their presence felt, and the finish lingers on sandalwood and pepper for a long time. This is a spiced eau-de-vie that retains a pleasing roundness. It comes from the Ténarèze, around Saint-Puy, and is bottled at 40% vol. It is happily served as a digestif, alongside a square of dark chocolate, sitting between the fresher VS and the more candied XO.
