BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1987
- Cask oak from the Limousin forest
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
- Terroir Tawny sands soil
- Distillation continuous Armagnac-type still
Matured at Château de Bordeneuve, the 1987 harvest has aged in Limousin oak casks without ever being blended. Grown on tawny sands, from Ugni Blanc or Baco distilled in a continuous Armagnac-type still, it retains, thirty-nine years on, a profile that the house describes in its note, reproduced below. Baron de Sigognac produces in small quantities and only fills its bottles to order, which leaves the Armagnac in cask until the last moment. It makes a fine gift for a friend's 39th birthday, just before turning forty. 70 cl format, in a Cognac-style bottle.
