CASTARÈDE ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1987
- Ageing 33 years in cask, bottled in 2020
- Cask oak
Castarède aged the 1987 harvest for thirty-three years in oak casks before bottling it in 2020; the date appears on the back label. Thirty-nine years have passed since the harvest. The house prides itself on longer ageing than regulations require, and on a maturation process that moves from new casks to older ones. The eau-de-vie, from a single year, is bottled at 40% vol. A fine age for an Armagnac to round off a meal, best enjoyed in small measures. 70 cl bottle, presented in a gift box.
