DELORD ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1963
- Ageing Eau-de-vie from the 1963 harvest alone, aged in oak casks
- Cask Oak casks, in the house cellars at Lannepax (Gers)
In the family's history, 1963 marks a passing of the torch: Jacques, Gaston's eldest son, carries on the Armagnac story at Lannepax. The harvest of that year yielded this single-vintage eau-de-vie, which the house describes on the nose as forest floor, vanilla, prune and a strong note of white pepper. The palate opens clean and direct, with a slight rancio character, and the finish is long. This vintage is bottled at 40% vol. in a 70 cl basquaise bottle, presented in a wooden case: a fitting gift to mark a 63rd birthday.
