JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1901
- Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1901 harvest alone, unblended
- Cask Oak casks, cellars of the house at Lannepax (Gers)
The very first Nobel Prizes were awarded in December 1901; Sully Prudhomme received the one for literature. Jean Cavé has kept the harvest from that year for more than a century, never blending it with any other. The house points out that its cellars benefit from stable humidity and temperature, thanks to a water channel running beneath the floor: summer and winter alike, no sudden fluctuations. It is to this careful stewardship that an eau-de-vie of such age owes its preservation. A fitting choice for an ancestor's birthday, a family date or a collection, to be savoured without haste.
