BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1946
- Cask Limousin oak
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
- Terroir Soil of tawny sands
- Distillation Armagnac-type continuous still
An 80th birthday deserves a bottle of the same age. This eau-de-vie comes from the 1946 harvest, the first after the war for many Gascon families, and it is eighty years old in 2026. It was born on a land of tawny sands, from Ugni Blanc or Baco, distilled in a continuous Armagnac-type still, then aged in Limousin oak casks. Baron de Sigognac has kept it at Château de Bordeneuve, where each old year ages in its own casks. Serve it at room temperature, in a narrow stemmed glass, and give it a few minutes to open up before raising a toast. 70 cl format, in a wooden box, with the bottling date on the back.
