Sempé Armagnac Vintage 1962

A bottle from 1962 is first and foremost a gift for someone born that year, for a milestone birthday or a family reunion. It comes from the great collection of Sempé vintages, which the house has built up since 1934 at Castelnau d'Auzan, in Bas-Armagnac. For each year, the cellar masters seek out mature eaux-de-vie faithful to the founder's triptych: fragrance, roundness, length. Presented in a 70 cl Milady bottle, at 40% vol., it is supplied in its presentation case, ready to be given. A 1962 harvest can also be kept in a cellar, in memory of a wedding or a birth.

The year 1962

Vintage grand

1962 was a year of intense international tension, marked by the Cuban Missile Crisis and Algerian independence. Far from those upheavals, the vines of Gascony yielded a vintage of fine ripeness and elegance. Aged for more than six decades in oak casks, these eaux-de-vie have developed a silky, complex profile, with notes of candied prunes and gentle spice.
