JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1962

  • Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1962 harvest alone, unblended
  • Cask 'Gros grains' oak, medium toast
  • Distillation Continuous

In the cask-strength range from Jean Cavé, each vintage is bottled at the exact degree at which it aged in the cellar. For this 1962, that means 44.1% vol. The eau-de-vie was produced by continuous distillation, then matured in a 'gros grains' oak cask. No blending. At this strength, it can be enjoyed neat, then with a drop of water to let it open up in a different way. A bottle to mark a birth from that year, or an anniversary celebrated in 1962.

Aged for more than six decades in oak casks, these eaux-de-vie have developed a silky, complex profile, with notes of candied prunes and gentle spice.
