BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1985
- Cask oak from the Limousin forest
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
- Terroir Bas-Armagnac, tawny sands
- Distillation Armagnac-type continuous still
The 1985 harvest was distilled and aged at Château de Bordeneuve, in the Bas-Armagnac, where Baron de Sigognac keeps each vintage separate. It comes from tawny sands soils, from Ugni Blanc or Baco, goes through the Armagnac-type continuous still, then ages in Limousin oak casks. Forty-one years later, it suits a slightly offbeat birthday, for those who dislike round numbers. The house style is recognised by its roundness and the presence of fruit. Once opened, the bottle keeps standing upright, well corked, for months without losing its quality. 70 cl, 40 % vol., in a wooden box, bottling date on the back.
