The Roger Groult 12 Year Old presents a deep amber robe with copper-tiled highlights, a testament to patient ageing in oak casks. The nose is fresh and floral, weaving together white-fleshed fruits and ripe apple, while the palate turns spicier and fruitier, wrapped in notes of candied fruit. The finish lingers on a pleasing candied orange zest, the hallmark of this expression crafted using the house's perpetual method, whereby each cask always retains a portion of older Calvados. Awarded at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge, it is best enjoyed as a digestif or alongside a chocolate dessert.

How it is made

A newcomer to our range since 2014, this 12-year-old Calvados succeeds the classic 15-year-old. It strikes a perfect balance between the freshness of younger Calvados and the complexity of older blends. Our 12-year-old Calvados shows a markedly floral character alongside a well-defined aromatic intensity. Already a firm favourite.

The traditions live on: today it is Jean-Roger, the fifth generation, who, having preserved double distillation over wood fire and other time-honoured methods, has the pleasure of offering you these exceptional cuvées of Calvados Pays d'Auge.
