Founded in 1832, Castarède is the oldest Armagnac négociant house. Since 1832, its traditions have remained unbroken. Each winter, the stills bring a warming flame that stirs the heart. And beneath rafters blackened by a century of evaporation, the long work of maturation quietly unfolds.
Our House allows its Armagnacs to age well beyond the periods required by law, in pursuit of a rare refinement. For more than 180 years, first in the chais at Pont de Bordes on the banks of the Baïse, then at Château de Maniban, a Bas-Armagnac estate, the Castarède family has lovingly kept alive a singular expertise in the service of Armagnac. Their commitment and passion for Armagnac have never wavered, and the water of immortality has preserved the enthusiasm of their eternal youth.
