2009 harvest from Château de Bordeneuve, in Castelnau d'Auzan, one of the oldest estates in Armagnac. This Ugni Blanc Armagnac, born on tawny sands, is distilled in a single distillation in the Armagnac still, then aged in oak casks. Bottled at natural strength, without reduction, it keeps all its aromatic power and a real softness on the palate. Supplied in a wooden case, in a 70 cl bottle, it makes a gift for a birth or a 2009 birthday, or for a curious lover of cask strength bottlings.

Colouramber with orange glints
Nosecomplex, freshness and liquorice supporting notes of vanilla ice cream and mint sweets, then exotic fruits and cocoa
Palatebalanced, good structure, attack of roasted notes (coffee beans and cocoa) and quince
Finishlong and rich, grilled pineapple and vanilla

Serve with to be enjoyed as a digestif

The year 2009

Vintage medium

2009 will be remembered as the year of Barack Obama's inauguration and Usain Bolt's world record in the 100 metres at Berlin. In Gascony, the vines yielded a fresh and expressive vintage. Aged for around fifteen years in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie offer a young, fruit-driven profile, with notes of flowers, fresh fruit and gentle spice.

In the heart of Bas-Armagnac, in the commune of Castelnau-d'Auzan-Labarrère, Château de Bordeneuve belongs to the Guasch family, rooted in Gascony since the twelfth century and owners of the estate since 1974. On their own Ugni Blanc and Baco vines, the house still distils using a near-century-old Armagnac column still, run day…
