JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1952
- Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1952 harvest alone, unblended
- Cask Oak casks, cellars of the house at Lannepax (Gers)
The 1952 from Jean Cavé is bottled at 42.3% vol. This eau-de-vie comes from a single harvest in the Gers, distilled by the house then aged in oak casks, with no blending from any other year. As the house explains, it is the wood that gives the eaux-de-vie their tannins, part of their aromas and their colour. It is best enjoyed neat, at room temperature, in a stemmed glass that allows the nose to open. A fine choice for a 1952 birthday, a wedding celebrated that year, or a lover of rare vintages.
