- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc
- Awards Gold Medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris 2012
The 1986 from Domaine de Pellehaut took gold in Paris in 2012. Its deep orange colour leans toward light amber, and the nose, very expressive, is dominated by toasted bread. The palate remains fresh, with burnt and roasted flavours of almond and bread. Jean-Pierre Rous, maître sommelier, also detects prune, quince and cocoa, which lend it roundness and length. This pure Ugni Blanc from Ténarèze is presented at 45% vol., the degree at which it left the cask.
