JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1989

  • Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1989 harvest alone, unblended
  • Cask Large-grain oak, medium toast
  • Distillation Continuous

In 1989, France celebrated the bicentenary of the Revolution; on 9 November, the Berlin Wall fell. Between these two events, the harvest in the Gers yielded the eau-de-vie that Jean Cavé distilled continuously and left to age on its own, without blending. At cellar strength, it comes to 47.9% vol. Olympe decanter and wooden arch presentation. A fine choice for a birth year, a wedding celebrated in 1989, or a friend with a passion for European history.

Aged for nearly four decades in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie retain a lovely vitality, with notes of candied fruit, vanilla and gentle spice.
