BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 2002
- Cask oak from the Limousin forest
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
- Terroir tawny sands
- Distillation continuous Armagnac-style still
Here is a Bas-Armagnac from the 2002 harvest, produced by the house of Bordeneuve in Castelnau d'Auzan. It is distilled in a continuous Armagnac-style still, then aged in Limousin oak casks. The nose of fresh fig, jasmine and apricot leads to a round, fruity palate, then to a very long finish. It makes a fine gift for the 24th birthday of someone born in 2002, for a wedding, or for a cellar in the making. The 70 cl bottle comes in its Baron de Sigognac wooden case. Legend has it that the Baron judged the age of an Armagnac only by his palate.
