BARON DE SIGOGNAC ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1959
- Cask Limousin oak
- Grape varieties Ugni Blanc or Baco
- Terroir tawny sands
- Distillation Armagnac-type continuous still
Sixty-seven years after the harvest, this 1959 is one of the old vintages that Château de Bordeneuve keeps for Baron de Sigognac. The estate, near Eauze, has belonged to the Guasch family since 1974; it looks after eaux-de-vie older than itself, each in its own casks. This one comes from tawny sands, from Ugni Blanc or Baco grapes, distilled in an Armagnac-type continuous still, then aged in Limousin oak casks. A bottle for a 1959 birth, a wedding or a retirement, presented in a 70 cl Cognac-style bottle.
