JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC 1905
- Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1905 harvest alone, unblended
- Cask Oak casks, the house's cellars in Lannepax (Gers)
Passed in December 1905, the law separating Church and State left a lasting mark on France. The Gers harvest of that same year took an entirely different path: distilled by Jean Cavé, it has aged without ever being blended. Its description places it among the 'prestige vintages'. At the peak determined by the cellar master, the house explains, its very old eaux-de-vie leave the wood and are transferred into glass demijohns in what the house calls 'le paradis'. For a family occasion from that year, to be shared among connoisseurs.
