Harvest 1928, from Bas-Armagnac. The Guasch family distils using a traditional short-column copper Armagnac still, almost a century old, then ages each vintage separately in oak casks at Château de Bordeneuve, in Castelnau d'Auzan. The estate holds vintages stretching back to 1893.

Vintage grand

1928 stands at the height of the Roaring Twenties, when Paris shone as the world capital of celebration and the arts. In Gascony, the vines yielded that year a vintage of exceptional quality, untouched by any sense of the upheavals to come. Aged for nearly a century in Gascon oak casks, these eaux-de-vie have acquired a remarkable depth.
