JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1947
- Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1947 harvest alone, unblended
- Cask Oak casks, cellars of the house at Lannepax (Gers)
Henri Cavé, fourth generation of the family, still advises the team at the house: a living memory that bridges the vintages of the past with the work of the cellar today. The 1947 belongs to the eaux-de-vie the family set aside after the war. It comes from a single harvest in the Gers, distilled at Lannepax and aged in oak casks. For a birthday or wedding anniversary from that year, it is best enjoyed as a digestif, in small sips, allowing the glass to open up gradually.
