JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1974

  • Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1974 harvest alone, unblended
  • Cask Large-grain oak, medium toast
  • Distillation Continuous

High strength, Olympe decanter and wooden arch: this 1974 from Jean Cavé is bottled at 53.4% vol. It comes from a single harvest, continuously distilled and aged in oak casks, with no blending whatsoever. As the house notes, an eau-de-vie loses on average half a degree per year in the cellar. A balloon glass, a small measure and a little patience suit it well. A fine choice to mark a birth, a wedding anniversary from that year, or for lovers of powerful cask-strength spirits.
