JEAN CAVÉ BAS-ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1978

  • Ageing Vintage: eau-de-vie from the 1978 harvest alone, unblended
  • Cask Wide-grain oak, medium toast
  • Distillation Continuous

This vintage is available from us in two forms: in the brut de fût range, here, in an Olympe decanter with wooden arch, and in the Expérience series from Jean Cavé. In both cases, a single harvest, never blended. This bottle is bottled at 44.1% vol.; the eau-de-vie was continuously distilled, then aged in wide-grained oak. It would suit a birth, a wedding anniversary celebrated in 1978, or an enthusiast who enjoys following the same vintage over time.

In Gascony, the vines yielded a vintage of fine concentration and great maturity. Aged for nearly half a century, these eaux-de-vie offer a deep profile of roasted prunes and dark chocolate.
