DANIS ARMAGNAC VINTAGE 1980 BRUT DE FÛT
- Ageing Vintage 1980, cask strength
Domaine de Danis never cuts its armagnacs with water: it is time spent in the cask that tames them. This 1980 is a fine example, bottled at its natural strength of 48% vol. The colour is amber, bright and clear. The nose, intense, develops subtle notes of candied fruit, vanilla and cocoa. The palate opens with a clean attack, the tannins round and well integrated, and the finish proves beautifully expansive. The eau-de-vie was aged in casks of around 400 litres, made by the village cooper.
