How it is made
Founded in 1832, Castarède is the oldest Armagnac négociant house. Since 1832, its traditions have remained unbroken. Each winter, the stills bring a warming flame that speaks to the soul. And beneath beams darkened by a century of evaporation, the slow work of maturation quietly unfolds.
Our House allows its Armagnacs to age well beyond the minimums required by law, in pursuit of a rare and exceptional finesse.
For more than 180 years, first in the cellars at Pont de Bordes on the banks of the Baïse, then at the Bas-Armagnac estate of Château de Maniban, the Castarède family has lovingly preserved a unique expertise devoted entirely to Armagnac.
Their commitment and passion for Armagnac have never wavered, and this water of immortality has kept alive the spirit of their eternal youth.
